Off the beaten track at the top of the Whitsundays is the little known town of Bowen.
Driving passed none other than the Big Mango on the way into town we were heading straight for the coast. The beautiful white sandy beaches and pristine waters drawing us in, suddenly a few days here wasn’t going to be enough.
The scenery incredible, the water colour crystal clear and surrounding rock formations amazing. Like a postcard some might say.
Greeted by the friendly and helpful staff we instantly felt relaxed; only too happy to share their knowledge of the area and make us feel welcome.
With perfect weather, the sun beaming down on us we made of way to the top of Flagstaff Hill Lookout, an easy walk to the top, we enjoyed the great views and perspective from up here! The surrounding bays and Glouster and Stone Islands in the distance it’s easy to see why people stay longer.
Settling in to our Beach Balcony Room, we had ample space and the accommodation was clean and tidy. Situated just across the road from the beach it was just perfect.
Now let’s not forget Horseshoe Bay Café, what a treat! Right at our doorstep we strolled in off the beach with sandy feet, the smashed avo and feta and a fresh smoothie hitting the spot for breakfast!
